Barnabas Center Office Manager

Role Description:  This role requires a growing follower of Jesus with a desire to care for our Barnabas Center counseling clients and counselors in a compassionate, effective, and efficient manner.  The role includes providing clients with a positive experience throughout their time at the center as they become new clients, schedule appointments, and come into our office for their appointments.  It also includes supporting our counselors and the director of counseling in their duties and in special projects as we serve our clients together.

Role Details:

  • Schedule: Part-Time Job-sharing (see last bullet)
    • Monday through Thursday – 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • Evening shift on Thursday – 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
    • Fridays off
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Able to stand or sit for extended periods of time, walk, kneel, lift up to 25lbs.
  • Experience/Skills Requirements:
    • Must maintain staff and client confidentiality.
    • Must maintain open, friendly, and harmonious atmosphere among office personnel and clients.
    • Must possess good oral/written communication skills and excellent social skills in working with a wide variety of clients.
    • Must have basic computer skills and the ability to operate office equipment (i.e. voicemail, fax/copier/scanner, word processing, and using scheduling, calendaring, and client database software, etc.)
    • Must be willing to care for physical office space and waiting room by ensuring cleanliness, restocking office supplies, and overseeing the maintenance of office equipment.
    • Must coordinate counseling center activities, meetings, and gatherings as an assistant to the director of counseling.
    • At least for now, continue our office Covid-19 protocols.
  • Job Sharing
    • This is a full-time job that is shared by two part-time employees. Each person will be expected to average 15-20 hours per week and to work out their schedule and shared responsibilities with another individual that shares the office manager job title.  Therefore, the candidate will be expected to work well with their counterpart to provide smooth, uninterrupted service to our counselors and clients in a seamless way through excellent communication, humility, flexibility, and teamwork.

Information Technology Support Specialist

Role Overview:  This role requires a follower of Jesus with a heart of compassion and a desire to use your gifts in providing information technology support throughout Peoria Rescue Ministries.  The role will provide coordination and oversight of all IT needs working with our outside technology service provider to maintain hardware and software equipment. Also critical to this role is troubleshooting and solving minor IT issues internally in a timely fashion to support ministry operations and maximize employee productivity.       

Role Details:

  • Schedule: Part Time (5-15 hours/week estimated with flexibility and fluctuation in hours. Availability needed during normal weekday business hours.)
  • Key Experience/Skills Requirements: High school diploma required; Experience must be IT related but may be demonstrated by both paid or unpaid experience.
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Point of contact for all employees’ software and hardware needs
    • Problem solves all IT issues throughout facilities
    • Coordinates service with outside providers when required
    • Reviews and recommends most cost-effective IT purchases as needed
    • Coordinates and oversees all IT equipment movement throughout facilities
